204. Control Bar – your flight deck

16 different features concentrated on the control bar. We can easily call it your flight deck, your mission control center. All your interactions with a kite during your ride will be through the control bar. Here is the list of what is usually available on most control bars:

1. Chicken loop – the main point of attachment between you and your kite. Most of the pull is transferred via the chicken loop. Chicken loop usually opens up when safety release (3) is engaged.
2. Chicken loop pin – is there to keep chicken loop connected to the hook of a spreader bar.
3. Safety release – this is your emergency brake. Use it to kill all power and flag out the kite

14. Line storage grooves –  this is where kite lines live between your kiting sessions.
15. Line guards – two rubber bands to keep would kite lines in place.
16. Floats – keep the bar afloat when you are not holding it.
